Wow, I haven’t blogged on here for 3 weeks.  Our trip to Nashville with the church J.O.Y. group was great.  Other than my fall when Pastor had to slam on the breaks so as to not be hit by a semi (my fault, I was standing in a moving bus.  Children, do not follow my example haha). It has been an interesting week for us.  The roof of the church leaked and we lost our projector. Now the roof is being fixed, and new projector to be installed.  We had the memorial service for one of our sweet young mother’s who passed at 41 from cancer (she left 4 boys behind).  I had my IV treatment, which helps me feel less pain and more energy. We helped with different needs that came up this week: counseling, feeding people, helping with transportation.  As well as our normal typing, studying, yard work, preaching, teaching, etc., etc., etc.

This is our life and we love it a lot.  But days do get long and bodies do grow weary.  Minds get so full of info it’s hard to keep it all straight.

God told us in His word,  “And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.” (Gal 6:9)  Jesus understood our weariness. Many times He went into the wilderness to pray.  When we get to a point in our lives where it seems we cannot go any further, stop, get alone with God and pray.  When things are great and we feel that we are fine, stop, get alone with God and pray.  Matthew 6:6 – “

Sometime you might not be able to get alone physically to talk to God, but He hears us even when it is a prayer in our heart.  “What am I to do? I will pray with my spirit, but I will pray with my mind also; I will sing praise with my spirit, but I will sing with my mind also.” (1 Corinthians 14:15)

     Mike Stancil was our sending pastor as we started an independent Baptist church in Columbus, Mississippi, back in the early ’90’s.  We not only developed a great friendship with the Stancils but we were witness first hand how God has used his preaching to bring many to Christ and Christians to a greater following our Savior.  Start praying for Bro. Mike as he prepares what God has for Serenity and West Chester/Mason/Cincy. Also, pray that God will start working on your heart.  For our families, churches, cities, country, and world to have Revival, we first must have Revival in our own hearts.  So make sure you plan to be here Wednesday – Friday (7 pm) and then on Sunday to hear from God’s Word through God’s man.

     Sunday, September 16, we will be celebrating God’s faithfulness to Serenity’s 33 years of existence. Why are we here as a church? To make a difference!  We need to bring harmony into the lives of believers as we all follow God’s will.  We want to facilitate change in the unbelievers, bringing them to the Savior.  We must be a lighthouse in a dark world, reflecting the love and eternal Light of Jesus near and far.

     So, join us at 9:30 am for the singing by “Voices of Hope” Trio. At 10:30, there will be more singing by the Trio and more preaching by Bro. Mike.  A BBQ sandwich lunch will se served right after the service. 

      Also on the 16th at 1:30 pm, we will move our celebration from remembering the past to looking at the future as we break ground for our new building.  This new auditorium/nursery/offices will allow us to continue to grow and to minister more to our community. 

     As I watch the excitement the church family has for this upcoming celebration weekend, my heart is overjoyed.  We hope that you will be part of the excitement, fellowship, and progress at the church we all call “Home”.  

     Psalm 133:1-2a – “Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! It is like the precious ointment upon the head”
